Donations Throughout the Year
Gifts in the form of books, other print materials, videos, equipment or money for the purchase of resources are always welcome. However, the library retains the right to decide whether or not particular items are suitable for the collection and may choose not to keep them, in which case they will be given away as donations or otherwise disposed of. Gift books will include a bookplate with the donor’s personalized dedication.

Birthday Book Gift Program
The Birthday Book Gift Program invites families and friends of Cushing Academy students to make a book donation to the Fisher-Watkins Library in honor of their child’s birthday. Annually, potential donors receive a Birthday Book packet including a list of pre-selected of books to choose from. Students receive a birthday card, including a personal note from the donor, informing them that a book has been donated in their honor. A bookplate with the student’s name and date of birth is placed inside each book. A book donated through the Birthday Book Gift Program is cataloged with a note referencing the student’s name. Students can then search the Fisher-Watkins online catalog for their names and the books donated in their honor.

Fisher-Watkins Library Book Fair
Each year during Fall Family Weekend, Fisher-Watkins Library holds its annual Book Fair. At this event, everyone is invited to browse through a large selection of books chosen for our collection. They can select a book or books to be donated to the library in honor of a particular student, a member of the faculty, an entire class, or whomever they would like. Soon after the Book Fair, when the book becomes part of the library collection, it will include a bookplate with the donor’s personalized dedication.
